3. Check If You Airplane Mode Is On
It is easy to switch on the airplane mode from the notification bar. Sometimes you may switch it on by tapping on it mistakenly. Even after a long flight, you may forget to switch off your airplane mode; resulting in internet connection issues. Next time, when your mobile data stop working instantly. Check on your phone’s airplane mode immediately.
4. Check Your Network Mode
Each mode has its own limitations. If no above option works, you should check which network mode you are using. Your network mode decided your internet speed. There are 3 network modes 2G, 3G and 4G. If you have an advanced phone it may have a 5G network as well.
Check and change your network according to your internet speed requirement.
- Go to the “Settings”
- Under “Mobile Data,” choose “Network Mode” and select the best network as per your needs.
- Re-Insert Your Sim Card
Even if rebooting the phone doesn’t work, you can try other options as well. Like re-inserting the sim card. Sim card has a direct connection with phone and data connections. So if you are having issues with the internet connection, your sim could be a reason too.
Insert your sim card properly and restart your phone. Internet should start working fine if the sim was an issue.
5. Reset Your APN
Your phone carriers communicate with your mobile devices through Access Point Names (APN). To use the internet on your phone, you need to have the correct APN settings. These settings include your IP address and gateway settings. If nothing works, go to your phone’s Settings > Wireless Connection or Mobile Data > Access Point Names > Restore Default Settings.
6. Change APN Protocol
If your current APN protocol is not working properly, you should change it right away. Although, not all devices have this option if you have such an option so better for you to change it in the APN settings section.
Even many phone models let you keep the field blank. If not, change it to IPv4/IPv6.
7. Enter Your APN Protocol Manually
Sometimes, software or system updates introduce bugs and issues. Especially in the APN settings. If the automatic settings restoration or changing the APN protocol doesn’t work. You must enter the APN protocol on your own.
Do not worry, we will help you with this. It’s too easy.
- Go to your APN Settings
- Tap + icon or the menu icon
- Select “New APN” and enter your APN details.
APN details may vary from internet provider or phone model. You can get the APN protocol details from Google or the service providers’ websites. Save these settings and restart your phone. Check if you are online now.
8. Check Your Data Limit
Mostly the internet providers offer limited internet data and we have got addicted to the internet too much that we do not even realise when it drains off. So, before cursing your internet provider for bad connections, you should check if your data pack limit is exhausted.
Go to phone’s Settings” and check your data limit under “Data Usage”
9. Perform A Factory Reset
If nothing works, the last option that you have is to reset your factory settings. By performing the factory reset, you should get the solution to internet connection problems. “Factory Data Reset” refresh your phone settings and change them to the default settings.
Make sure you perform this only as a last option. As it will reset all your settings. Often, you may get a notification of confirmation whether you really want to reset your factory settings.
If this doesn’t work too, then you must go to the service provider to seek a solution.
The Final Words
If you are facing internet connection issues, make sure you perform all troubleshooting before visiting the service provider. Try turning off/on your phone, check airplane mode. If still doesn’t work, try changing your APN protocol (manually, if possible). If nothing works, you should opt for Factory Reset Settings.
